Submission permissions and authorizations

Why am I not able to access a submission in my search results?  What does "submission protected" mean?

This means a source has opted into your newsroom or the Global PIN, but has responded to a query that has not been shared with your newsroom.

Why show me a snippet of the submission if I do not have access to the whole thing?

The snippet is shared only when there is a portion of the response that matches your search terms.  It is there to help you know the source has had other interactions with the PIN that are relevant to your topic.

What are my options when I see this?

1) You can contact a user from the organization who owns the query to see if they are able to share the submission.

2) You can contact the source, indicate that you see they have responded to a query from another PIN newsroom, and that you would like to ask them some questions about your specific topic.
