The PINfluence filing form is the best way to update AIR about sources' editorial impact and to submit info and links for your newsroom to track your PIN informed content over time, as well as the demographics of the sources you turn to in your reporting. You also have the option of displaying this PIN informed content via an RSS feed on your site.
1. From any page in AIR, click on the Create(+) icon in the header to get the dropdown menu. Then select PINfluence from the list.
2. Complete at least the minimum fields:
Story Headline: Headline of the Story/Event
How the PIN influenced the story: Describe how the sources contributed to reporting/content development. Reminder this will be included in the PINfluence feed seen by folks outside of the PIN.
Organization: The name of the organization will be included in the PINfluence feed. If there is more than one organization that is part of this outcome, please create another PINfluence.
Publish/Air/Event Date: The date of the event, or the date the story was published or aired.
Additional fields you are encouraged to complete:
Content Link: Link to story or event, if applicable.
Program/Event/Website: The name of the program or event in which the content appeared
Show in feeds: Choose YES to log in to AIR and publish PINfluence publicly. Choose NO to log in to AIR without publishing PINfluence publicly.
Project: Select a project. You can enter additional projects after you have saved this page.
Query: Select a query. You can enter additional queries after you have saved this page. Enter the external or the internal title of the query for searching.
Influencing sources not named in the story: List sources’ email addresses, separating multiples with commas. These are sources who have been used to shape the story, but are not cited.

3. Click "Save." You will be redirected to the PINfluence profile page where you can edit any of the details.
Write a punchy headline that hints at PIN informed content, or poses an intriguing question that PIN sources went on to help answer. The headline should hint at the PINfluence, and the description should make it clear how the PIN source(s) helped journalists make the connection.
